| Little Grebe, known locally as the "gakit," sprints on the water's surface flapping its wings and scurrying its feet. As you can see, it seems to enjoy the calm stillness of the water over which it scuttles as graciously as ever. This very rare species of bird is found only at Lake Danao, San Francisco, Cebu. It has the unique habit of swimming underwater for a considerable period of time to catch its prey of fish. It is winged, but can't fly very high. |
